A record turnout at the eighth annual McLardy McShane golf day in Melbourne has resulted in a total of $28,000 being raised for Reach, the charity founded by the late Jim Stynes.

A further $5000 was raised by the brokerage for Dublin-based youth charity Soar, an Irish foundation set up to echo the work that Reach does in Australia.

Fifteen insurers sponsored last week’s event.
