Finalists in the Australian Insurance Industry Awards have been announced, with the winners to be announced at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 16.

The awards are organised by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

The finalists are:

• Small broker: Parmia Pty Ltd, Scott Winton Insurance Brokers and Simplex Insurance Solutions
• Medium broker: Action Insurance Brokers, IBL Limited and InterRisk Australia
• Large broker: Aon, Marsh and OAMPS Insurance Brokers
• Small/medium general insurance company: CommInsure, RAA Insurance and Westpac
• Large general insurance company: Allianz Australia, QBE and Suncorp
• Law firm/practitioner: Barry Nilsson Lawyers, DLA Piper, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers and Minter Ellison
• Life insurance company: AIA, BT Financial Group/Westpac and CommInsure
• Claims service provider: Allianz Australia, National Transport Insurance and Suncorp
• Underwriting agency: Accident and Health International, Brooklyn Underwriting and Dual Australia
• Service provider to the industry: Gratex International, JB Hi-Fi and SSP
• Innovation of the year: Budget Direct, Claim360 and Claim Central Holdings
• Reinsurance company: Munich Re, RGA and Swiss Re.
