ICNZ runs training course for citizens advice staff
The Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ) has hosted a training session for Citizens Advice Bureau volunteers, as part of its commitment to educating consumers about insurance issues.
Twenty bureau staff attended the two-hour session – called An Introduction to General Insurance in New Zealand – in Wellington.
It comes after ICNZ published the Insurance Handbook: A Short Guide to the General Insurance Industry in New Zealand.
The guide contains “everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the general insurance industry in New Zealand and the vital role it plays in supporting the economy and society”.
In the next few weeks ICNZ is expected to launch its Are You Covered? website, a consumer guide to assessing risks and cover across business, travel, motor and home and contents insurance, including types of policies, “what if” information, disclosure obligations and disputes and resolution schemes.
