icare has presented disability care company Sylvanvale with an icare Aware award for halving its workers’ compensation costs in less than five years.

The company’s poor safety record was causing workers’ compensation premiums to spiral, endangering its viability, says Sylvanvale work health and safety manager Amber Haran.

The company developed a comprehensive strategy to prevent injuries, improve safety and employee training, and return people to work faster.

The Aware Awards recognise NSW businesses that strive to prevent injuries at work.
