icare cancels excellence awards event

NSW state insurer icare has cancelled its Care and Service Excellence Awards (CASE) 2020 event because of the COVID-19 disruption on the business community.

It will instead hold a special “Industry Champions” initiative to recognise individuals and organisations that have made outstanding contributions to the delivery of insurance and care services during the past year.

“It is important that we can continue to recognise those organisations and individuals making outstanding, positive contributions within the industry,” GM Employer Engagement Geoff Henderson told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“We have created a one-off Industry Champions program to recognise the achievements and acknowledge the work that has taken place in a challenging year for the industry.”

icare says the list of Industry Champions will be announced some time this month or in March. Two winners will be selected from the following five categories:

Young professional of the year; outstanding care and service for rehabilitation and support; outstanding care and service for care and support; excellence and innovation in injury management; and excellence in improving employer performance.

The annual CASE awards recognise outstanding service delivery in the NSW workers’ compensation industry.
