Nominations are now open for the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (IBANZ) annual general insurance industry awards.

The Insurer of the Year award will be decided by the results of the annual IBANZ broker survey, but this year the awards process will change for all other categories.

For these categories, applications or nominations must now be made through an “expression of interest” form by July 9, which will be reviewed by an independent evaluator.

Finalists will be notified by July 23 and asked for further evidence to support their nomination to allow a full evaluation of each nominee to be prepared and referred to the judging panel.

Award categories include Broker of the Year, Insurer Professional of the Year, Insurance Investigator/Claims Specialist of the Year, Loss Adjuster/Assessor of the Year, Emerging Professional Broker of the Year, Emerging Professional Insurer of the Year, Broking Office of the Year, Innovation of the Year and the Support Services to the Industry award.

The awards will be presented at a dinner in Auckland on November 3.
