IAG’s StormSafe partnership wins resilience award
IAG and the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) were winners in the annual Resilient Australia Business Awards at Sydney’s Parliament House last week.
The Federal Government awards recognise initiatives that strengthen communities’ disaster resilience.
IAG brand NRMA Insurance has been principal partner of the NSW SES since 2011.
Their StormSafe program – which won the “communicating with and educating people about risks” category – helps communities make informed decisions around major weather events.
NSW SES Deputy Commissioner Greg Newton says he is “thrilled” StormSafe has been recognised.
“We believe the StormSafe campaign has strengthened the resilience of NSW communities by successfully raising awareness of risks through leveraging expertise and networks to drive action at a local level,” Mr Newton said.
IAG Head of Group Shared Value Ramana James says the award shows how partnerships driven by the same priorities and vision can generate change.
“By working together with our volunteer, customer, employee and community networks, we are more powerful in our ability to create long-lasting and meaningful change towards more resilient communities,” Mr James said.
