HWL Ebsworth Lawyers has poached 23 staff from DLA Piper to strengthen its NSW workers’ compensation capacity.

“We identified that this was an area in which our existing and target clients had a particular need,” a spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Three former DLA Piper staff – Jenne Tzavaras, Joanna Apostolopoulos and Ivan Medak – have also been made partners within the Sydney insurance team.

A DLA Piper spokesman confirmed to insuranceNEWS.com.au that the NSW workers’ compensation team left the firm on November 1.
