More than 500 brokers attended the Underwriting Agencies Council-Xceedance Sydney expo last Thursday, kicking off a program of events around the country.

The expo at the International Convention Centre featured a record 135 exhibitors and was attended by 20% more brokers than a year earlier, the council says.

CEO Jenny Bax says the venue was “buzzing with activity”.

“With the expos and rebranded Market Exchanges, we are aiming for events that allow brokers to connect with underwriting agencies and placement specialists,” she told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “We’re delighted with how 2024 is shaping up.”

Insurance consulting firm Xceedance is the council’s platinum sponsor this year and took over naming rights to the Sydney expo. 

The council’s calendar includes Market Exchange events in Canberra, Wagga Wagga, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Brisbane, Parramatta, Adelaide, Launceston and Perth.
