The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) has named Howden Australia as its new official insurance partner and sponsor for the Melbourne Cup Carnival.   

The VRC says the three-year partnership will see Howden hold naming rights for a key Flemington Autumn race day, now named Howden Australian Guineas Day. Howden will also have a naming sponsorship for the event’s 1600m race, titled the Group 1 Howden Australian Guineas.   

Additionally, Howden has been appointed as the official support partner for the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour, one of the VRC’s primary community engagement events.  

Howden Pacific CEO Matt Bacon says the collaboration is a natural fit for the organisation and builds on its link with the industry after its partnership with Ascot Racecourse in 2021.   

“Both VRC and Howden have a passion for racing and the way in which it unites and excites people, so we are delighted to be sharing that through Howden Australian Guineas Day and as support partner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour,” Mr Bacon said.   

“Howden has firm plans to expand its presence in Australia and we know the Melbourne Cup Carnival in spring and Flemington Racing Spectacular in autumn has strong reach that will help us grow our brand awareness in the Australian market.”
