HDI Global has appointed Sangeeta Chandra as marine underwriting manager for its Queensland operations.

Ms Chandra joins from NM Insurance, where she was head of underwriting for its Proteus Marine Insurance operations and a business development manager.

She has also worked at QBE and Zurich, and as a claims manager at Suncorp.

HDI's Queensland and NT manager Abishesh Chettiar says Ms Chandra is “ready to drive growth and deliver outstanding results”. 

“Her expertise and leadership skills make her the ideal candidate to navigate the ever-evolving marine insurance landscape,” Mr Chettiar said.

“Her professionalism has led her to consistent achievement in the industry and positions her as an invaluable asset to the company. We are excited to have her on board.” 

HDI reported profitable growth for its Australian business in April, recording more than $1 billion gross premium.
