HDI Global has appointed Stephen Jones, formerly at Marsh, as State Manager Southern Region.

Mr Jones, who starts next Monday, will be based in Melbourne and have responsibility for leading the Victoria branch office team through the next phase of growth.

“Stephen’s understanding of executive management, broking, and underwriting, along with his track record of transformative growth make him a great asset to the HDI team,” Asia Pacific Head and Australia MD Stefan Feldmann said.

“His leadership and extensive experience will strengthen local support to our broker partners and their clients for the southern region.”

Mr Jones most recently was Marsh MD for Affinity in the Pacific region. He also has 17 years underwriting experience and held key regional, national and state roles for Ace Insurance.

Mr Jones says he has observed the manner in which HDI has entered the insurance market and has been impressed by the approach of its team.

“From an industry perspective, I am passionate about continuing to promote the importance of risk and insurance within the context of all business decisions, looking at ways to attract more new starters into our industry, and highlighting the unique opportunity we all have to be entrusted by Australian businesses and consumers,” he said.
