German industrial insurer HDI-Gerling has appointed Georgia Vavasour as Northern Region Market Manager, based in Sydney.

Ms Vavasour was previously the national management liability practice leader at AIG, where she spent seven years in Australia and the UK, specialising in the mid-market and SME segments.

“Georgia is a great addition to HDI-Gerling in Australasia,” regional MD Stefan Feldmann said.

He says Ms Vavasour’s role will be to drive HDI-Gerling’s mid-market expansion and to reach a larger audience of corporate insurance brokers.

Ms Vavasour has held various roles in underwriting, portfolio and schemes and facilities management in financial lines.
