Australian Owner Builders Insurance Services (AOBIS) GM Sam Greco has left the company and plans to set up his own underwriting agency. 

He has been replaced by former Gateway Insurance Brokers director Tony Bown. 

Mr Greco, who has run AOBIS since its formation in 2008, says he parted from the company on good terms. AOBIS is owned by Buildsafe Insurance Brokers MD Phil Graf.

“I want to build a new agency based on real-time technology to take up opportunities in the owner-builders insurance field,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“This isn’t a recurring type of business, so client acquisition is what it’s all about.”

He says potential underwriters have already shown an interest in working with his new venture.
