Gold Seal updates broking diploma
Training provider Gold Seal will release its updated broking diploma later this year.
The FNS15 Diploma of Insurance Broking follows recent changes to the Financial Services Training Package developed by Innovation & Business Skills Australia.
Gold Seal says its diploma has been “rationalised” from 13 to 10 units of competency. It will contain four modules, one of which is the restructured Tier 1 in insurance broking.
Current Tier 1 accreditations and diplomas of insurance broking remain compliant.
Gold Seal says transition is possible for anyone with Tier 1 accreditations who wishes to continue their diploma studies.
MD Sheila Baker has played a prominent role in the campaign for a revamp of broker education.
She has argued training has become too focused on compliance, at the expense of technical and skills development.
