GIO extends naming rights for Canberra stadium
Suncorp brand GIO has signed on for a further four years as the naming rights sponsor of GIO Stadium Canberra.
GIO first partnered with the stadium in 2013 and has now confirmed its support until 2026.
“We’ve seen locals and visitors share many memorable moments at this iconic venue, and we look forward to more in the future,” Executive GM Matt Pearson said.
ACT Deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry says GIO has been an integral part of the stadium’s journey over the past eight seasons, with around 224 games of rugby league and union played at the ground featuring home teams the Canberra Raiders and Brumbies.
GIO Stadium Canberra has also hosted many international sporting events, concerts and theatre experiences, along with local community events such as Stadium Golf.
The extension of the partnership comes at an exciting time for Canberra’s sports lovers, she says, with Brumbies and Brumbies Super W teams both kicking off their seasons.
“The agreement with GIO will enable us to continue to showcase great sport and events,” Ms Berry said.
