Insurance law firm Gilchrist Connell has appointed Yvonne Lam as Principal and Head of Corporate Insurance and Insurtech. 

Sydney-based Ms Lam has been at Clyde & Co for more than a decade, most recently as Special Counsel. Managing principal Richard Wood says she joins Gilchrist Connell during a time of significant legislative and regulatory change, with increasing demand and pressure on clients to ensure sound governance and compliance. 

"We are very pleased to have Yvonne on board,” he said, adding she was well-versed in the highly regulated Australian environment, navigating licensing requirements and obligations, product development, distribution and agency agreements, compliance frameworks and portfolio transfers. 

Her advisory work has spanned establishment of operations, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. 

The appointment comes after Principal Celia Wright joined Gilchrist Connell in October after eight years at Moray & Agnew, while insurance lawyer Tiarn Pauletto was made Principal earlier this month and Melbourne-based Bhrig Chauhan became Principal in May.
