Gallagher Bassett has appointed Sameer Oghanna as Head of Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Analytics for Australia and New Zealand.

The claims management company says Mr Oghanna is a leading insurance industry automation and AI expert, with more than 16 years’ experience.

He previously drove the Gallagher Bassett application and business intelligence strategy and delivered systems solutions for contracts including Insurance & Care NSW government general line portfolios.

Mr Oghanna will report to Australia and New Zealand Information Technology Services GM Julian Martin.

“Artificial intelligence has the potential to completely transform the way we think about customer experiences in the insurance industry,” Mr Martin said.

“Sameer’s expertise, as well as his passion for delivering outstanding user experiences, will help us position our clients to thrive in this new landscape.”

Mr Oghanna says new digital initiatives will improve customer outcomes through more efficient and effective operational performance, and enable discovery of new product lines.
