Gallagher NT Area Leader Stewart Cox – hailed by his colleagues as a legend – has died after a long illness.

“He was a trusted and admired colleague who helped many of the next generation of brokers take their first steps into the industry and was a guiding force for those looking for a mentor and trusted counsel,” Australian CEO Sarah Lyons said.

“His straight-talking approach won the respect of many, including myself.”

Mr Cox won several accolades during a decades-long career, including last year’s NT Insurance Awards honour for best senior broker.

He had managed the NT operations, including Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs branches, since 2005, according to his LinkedIn profile.
