Gallagher hires two top players in Brisbane

Former Wallabies rugby union captain Tony Shaw has joined the corporate broking team at Gallagher alongside industry veteran Mark Richardson, who steps into the role of Manager, Corporate.

Both are based in Brisbane.

Mr Shaw, who recently was made a Member of the Order of Australia, previously spent 23 years as a director at Marsh.

Mr Richardson joins Gallagher after more than 17 years at JLT Australia, most recently as divisional manager. Over three decades in the industry his clients have spanned the finance, transport & logistics, aviation, waste management and property industries.

Last month Gallagher Australia appointed Katherine Simmonds, most recently with Willis Towers Watson, as Head of Corporate with effect from March. She will be based in Gallagher’s North Sydney offices working with teams around Australia.

The global broker reported full-year net earnings of $US715.8 million ($1.07 billion) last year, up from $US675.9 million ($1 billion).
