Gallagher broker takes NT industry award

Gallagher’s Andrew McCormack has been crowned Broker of the Year at this year’s Northern Territory insurance industry awards.

Winners were announced at a gala event in Darwin last week marking the eighth annual NT Insurance Conference.

The inaugural Gallagher Stewart Cox Memorial Award was won by Riccardo Lelli, director at AFA Insurance Brokers. He received a trophy and up to $5000 for a professional opportunity of his own choosing.

Gallagher created the new regional award to recognise insurance professionals who display both dedication to the industry and commitment to the NT. Mr Cox, who was leader of Gallagher’s Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs branches, died in December last year after a long illness.

The BDM/ Underwriting Professional of the Year award went to James Frankenfeld, Regional Manager at Blue Zebra Insurance.

Claims Professional of the Year was won by Sarah Campbell, External Claims Adjuster at Crawford & Company.

The Young Insurance Professional of the Year award went to Jamie Elkins, Eligibility and Disputes Manager at Gallagher Bassett.

Service Provider of the Year was awarded to John Deane, Operations Manager at Gallagher Bassett, while Customer Service Professional of the Year was won by Karlie Clausen, client manager at Gallagher Bassett.

The 2019 conference theme, “Adapting in a Shifting Landscape,” acknowledges individuals assisting the industry to move forward during a time of innovation and change.
