Gallagher Bassett partners with Special Olympics
Gallagher Bassett has partnered with Special Olympics, a decades-long global movement aimed at ending discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities and fostering acceptance via sport and education.
It has millions of athletes and partners globally, as well as coaches and volunteers who run the Special Olympics each year and its Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) to raise funds. Gallagher Bassett will support programs such as the 2022 USA Games LETR Final Leg as well as international conferences in Texas this year, and Chicago next year.
“Gallagher Bassett is proud to support the global movement of Special Olympics to promote inclusion, equality, and acceptance,” Gallagher Bassett President and CEO Scott Hudson said.
“We are honored to support the Torch Run – a mission that truly aligns with our own, as dedicated and compassionate Special Olympics volunteers also go beyond, empower communities and help others thrive in the face of adversity.”
Gallagher Bassett will also integrate its Gentle Bear program into Torch Run activities. Donations of Gentle Bear teddy bears began in 2007 as a partnership with the South Australia Police Department to help affected children. Since then, 18,000 children around the world have received bears.
Special Olympics International CEO Mary Davis said she looked forward to having Gallagher Bassett “walk with us to raise awareness around this exciting initiative.”
