Gallagher Bassett makes personnel changes

Gallagher Bassett has appointed Scott Newland to the new role of GM, Government and Long Tail Claims.

Brisbane-based Mr Newland has already worked with many of Gallagher Bassett’s key clients in an acting capacity for the past six months, including icare NSW, Comcover and Lloyd’s.

He has more than 10 years’ experience in the industry, and formerly held leadership roles at Marsh and IAG.

In Melbourne, Michelle Klobas has moved to a new role as Client Services Director to lead the transition from a decentralised client service structure to one national team. She will manage client services across all product lines including self-insurance, workers’ compensation, general insurance and consultancy.

Ms Klobas has more than 25 years’ insurance experience, and was most recently managing principal at Marsh. Prior to that she was national manager of client relationships at CGU.
