A funeral service for JL Exec recruitment consultancy founder Joanne Limbourn will be held on Friday afternoon in North Ryde. 

Ms Limbourn, who was 58, died shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Her career spanned 12 years in general insurance across broking, underwriting, claims and sales, followed by more than 20 years recruiting insurance executives in Australia and neighbouring pacific countries. 

She founded JL Exec eight years ago after more than a decade at Brooklyn Executive, where she successfully recruited across a wide range of roles including underwriters, brokers, reinsurance, sales managers, claims, product managers, compliance and executive management. 

She was formerly a Business Development Manager at WTW and Account Manager at Marsh. 

Ms Limbourn was known for her upbeat attitude, social nature and fondness for dancing, a friend from her schooldays tells insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Ms Limbourn is survived by her father, as well as two brothers who will travel from Queensland to Sydney for the funeral, to be held at 3pm on Friday at Magnolia Chapel, Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium in North Ryde.
