The Financial Services Union is calling for IAG workers to get involved in the fight for better pay and conditions as negotiations for a new enterprise bargaining agreement begin.

The new agreement will cover CGU, NRMA, Swann Insurance, SGIO and SGIC employees with negotiations continuing over the next few months.

“The more members we have, the greater our bargaining power, so it’s crucial that all members have conversations with colleagues about the importance of joining the union,” he said.

A recent survey showed IAG employees are concerned about a number of issues, including transparency and fairness regarding the current pay system, flexitime and the retention of the NSW bank holiday.

Negotiations are scheduled to continue on a fortnightly basis in the coming months.
