Friends and colleagues to remember Ted Hogg
A memorial service will be held in Sydney on Wednesday to commemorate industry veteran Edward (Ted) Hogg, who died two weeks ago aged 84.
He is survived by his children Christopher and Michael, and six grandchildren.
Mr Hogg moved with his family to Australia from New Zealand in the early 1970s, and worked as a broker before moving into mergers and acquisitions.
He was the first person to introduce cancer cover into Australia, and was instrumental in setting up the first premium funding company.
Friend Lance Costello, who is MD at Sydney brokers Costello Webster, told insuranceNEWS.com.au Mr Hogg enjoyed politics and was former president of the NSW Liberal Party.
“He was a great lunch companion and always had a lot of stories to tell,” Mr Costello said. “He was very well known across the industry.”
A memorial will be hosted by son Christopher at the Australian Club in Macquarie Street, Sydney, from 6-8pm on Wednesday August 2. Mr Hogg snr was a member of the club.
