FPA changes committee structures
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) will now open up its committee structure to the entire membership.
As part of the change to encourage the association’s members to become more involved, a number of new committees will be formed.
These include membership; conference and events; education and services; professional conduct and policy and regulation.
FPA Chairman Matthew Rowe says the board decided to completely redesign the committee structure to align them with its two strategic priorities of member engagement and professionalism.
“Within these two streams we will be seeking member expertise to share their ideas in a range of committees,” he said.
“As part of the new strategy the FPA is looking to ensure that all members can connect with the association in their area of professional interest and contribute their expertise in vital areas of work for the profession.”
Mr Rowe started his involvement with the FPA through becoming a committee member before joining the board and subsequently becoming chairman.
“It was a great insight into the work of the FPA and many of the complex professional and government issues it deals with,” he said.
“Beyond that it gave me a new sense of professional commitment that drove my motivation to be on the board and take a leadership position in the profession.”
