FPA service award nominations open

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) last week opened nominations for its 2010 Value of Advice Awards recognising excellence in financial planning.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professionals and those undertaking the CFP program are eligible to enter the awards. Nominations close September 24.

Entrants must demonstrate how the recommendations and outcomes of their financial advice gave value to a real-life client in one of four categories: wealth accumulation and protection, pre-retirement planning, post-retirement planning and management and pro-bono.

FPA CEO Mark Rantall says the awards celebrate CFP professionals’ commitment to best practice.

“The Value of Advice Awards are a great way for members to show consumers the range of advice that they can get from a member of the FPA,” he said. “The awards also demonstrate the extent to which members go to secure their client’s financial well-being and peace of mind.”

The winners will be announced at the FPA’s 2010 national conference on the Gold Coast in November.
