FOS sets up Q&A session for conference
This year’s Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) conference will feature a “talk to the experts” session, where senior FOS executives and ombudsmen will answer questions.
FOS has made several changes to the event this year, with sessions streamed to suit different levels of expertise and knowledge.
There will be seminars on application of the Insurance Contracts Act, proportionate liability in investment disputes and reforms that would make the dispute process faster, simpler and fairer.
Plenary sessions will discuss ways to raise confidence in financial services and the expectations, trends and behaviours of the future consumer.
Breakout sessions will discuss making internal dispute resolution work effectively as well as serious misconduct and reporting of systemic issues.
A panel of experts will discuss the implications, opportunities and challenges of the changing financial services landscape.
FOS plans to provide secure services demonstrations, e-learning demonstrations and opportunities to meet case managers.
The conference starts with a networking dinner on October 29, with the full-day program the following day.
The conference in Melbourne awards continuing professional development points.
