The Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum will focus on the law of general average at its meeting this Thursday.

Andrew Joannou, Chairman of claims consultancy WK Webster, will outline this principle of maritime law, which applies in cases where all parties contribute to an extraordinary loss.

Mr Joannou has responsibility for the company’s cargo casualty department.

The meeting will be held at Colin Biggers & Paisley in William Street, Melbourne.
