BT Financial Group general insurance head Gerard McDermott has joined EML as Group Executive Corporate Services, according to his LinkedIn account.

Workers’ compensation mutual EML declined to comment or confirm the appointment when contacted by insuranceNEWS.com.au.

It’s understood Mr McDermott left BT in May and started the new role last week. He is based in Sydney.

He is a member of EML’s senior leadership, accountable for finance, people and culture, transformation, portfolio improvement, business administration services and building services.

Before joining BT Financial Group Mr McDermott was Suncorp’s EGM distribution for personal finance from March to June last year.

Previously he was MD of Suncorp’s authorised representative group Resilium for more than three years.
