Floodplain Management Australia opens award scheme
Organisations and individuals working to tackle floods can now enter Floodplain Management Australia’s (FMA) Excellence Awards.
The awards recognise work on land use planning, reducing flood impacts, managing flood incidents or restoring communities.
This is the first year students and individual members have been invited to participate.
The awards are divided into two categories: FMA-NRMA Insurance flood risk management project of the year, and Allan Ezzy flood risk manager of the year.
The FMA-NRMA Insurance winner will receive $2500 for work related to flood risk education.
The Allan Ezzy award winner will receive a three-day registration to next year’s FMA conference and pre-conference workshops at the Gold Coast.
Submissions close on April 7, and winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Newcastle in May. To enter, click here.
