Finity recruits QBE climate expert

Independent actuarial and analytics firm Finity has appointed Sharanjit Paddam as Principal in its climate risk team.

Mr Paddam is an award-winning environmental and social risk specialist whose most recent position was QBE’s Head of ESG Risk.

He will join Finity in July, and work alongside international climate expert Rade Musulin.

Mr Musulin told insuranceNEWS.com.au Mr Paddam’s appointment will enable the firm to expand service to clients.

“Our passion is climate and this is going to be a growing area for the next several years. I’m thrilled that Sharanjit is joining and the company is bringing in some great people.”

Last year Mr Paddam was awarded Risk Manager of the Year by the Climate Alliance, and he also received the Actuaries Institute’s Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of his service on the Climate Change Working Group.

“Government and business leaders are looking to Finity to leverage our skills across analytics and climate science to help them navigate and respond to climate risk at both a strategic and operational level,” Finity MD Scott Collings said.

“Sharanjit brings a wealth of experience, in particular his deep understanding of natural perils risks, the regulatory landscape and wide ranging needs of stakeholders.”
