The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has opened submissions to its Best Practice Awards and FPA Honorary Awards.

Members can enter three categories under best practice: FPA-certified financial planners; FPA associate financial planners; and Future2 community service.

The deadline for submissions is October 5. State and territory winners, runners-up and a national winner will be announced in November-December.

The FPA Honorary Awards for Distinguished Service and Fellows recognise members who have served the community by working with charities, mentoring young planners or working with their local FPA chapters and committees.

Jim Fenwicke, who won the associate financial planner Best Practice Award last year, says it led to enquiries from potential clients.
