Fast Cover Travel Insurance has won this year’s Finder Award for “Best Insurance Innovation”.

At a virtual award ceremony on Wednesday Fast Cover, which is underwritten by Hollard, was described as one of Australia’s most forward-thinking businesses.

“It’s a great acknowledgement for the Fast Cover team to receive recognition from Finder for their innovative simple solutions to complex problems,” CEO Dean Van Es told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“The impact of COVID-19 on the travel insurance industry has certainly challenged us,” he said. “Fast Cover has had to adapt, innovate and move faster than ever to support our customers and maintain a product in market so we can continue partnering with Aussie travellers.”

The Finder Innovation Awards, now in their fifth year, recognise the excellence, creativity and impact of innovations introduced during the year to June 30. Submissions were reviewed by a judging panel of 48. This year, entrants focused on their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finder Australia CEO Chris Ellis says 2020 “has forced businesses to pivot and think about how they can reinvent themselves and dig deeper so they can continue to exceed customer expectations”.
