Vero has appointed former insurance broker Peter Roberts as State Manager Queensland, effective from January 9.

Mr Roberts has more than 33 years’ insurance experience. Prior to moving into broking he was an account director at Suncorp for more than 15 years. 

His move back to the underwriting side of insurance follows the sale last summer to Insurance House Group of his Brisbane brokerage Assurity, which he co-owned with Mark Fewings.

Mr Roberts has served on the National Insurance Brokers Association board since 2012 and has also held directorships at Austbrokers & IBNA Member Services, Assurity and the IBNA network.

Vero’s Head of Commercial Intermediaries, Anthony Pagano, says Mr Roberts is “ideally suited to drive the Vero distribution team as we continue to focus on our intermediated market strategy”.
