Young insurance professionals in New Zealand have the chance to win a $NZ5000 ($4390) scholarship.

The program, run by the Insurance Council of New Zealand and Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, aims to recognise outstanding performance in the industry.

The winner will attend an international conference or seminar program that provides an industry or leadership development opportunity.

Applicants aged under 35 must submit a 2500-word essay on one of five topics.
