Emergence Insurance plans to hold its Cyber SyncUp conference every year after more than 250 brokers attended its inaugural one-day event.

The specialist underwriting agency’s CEO and founder Troy Filipcevic says last week’s event was such a success he “can’t wait to start planning Cyber SyncUp 2025”.

“Our aim is to help brokers have better cyber conversations with their clients and they need to be well informed to do that,” he said. “It was an enlightening and invaluable day for insurance brokers committed to enhancing their cyber expertise.”

The session on Wednesday at the State Library of NSW in Sydney discussed current cyber threats, legislative changes, crisis management and financial recovery from losses. It included cyber claim case studies and incident response strategies.

Presenters included representatives from the government, Markel International, McGrathNicol and Triskele Labs, plus public relations specialists and forensic accountants.
