Cyber specialist underwriting agency Emergence Insurance has promoted Katrina Hickson to the newly created role of head of distribution.

Gold Coast-based Ms Hickson has been business development underwriter for Queensland and the NT since March 2021. In her new position, she will lead the business development team, oversee strategy and expand the agency’s market presence in Australia and New Zealand.

“We needed a co-ordinated approach across the business. This role will help design solutions for brokers and execute those plans,” CEO and founder Troy Filipcevic said.

Ms Hickson formerly spent two years as broker development manager for Queensland and NT at Steadfast Group, which has a shareholding in Emergence, and more than a decade working in premium funding.
