Driussi crowned actuary of the year
Quantium director and co-founder Adam Driussi has been named actuary of the year.
He won the Actuaries Institute award for his forward-thinking work on data analytics and his role promoting the profession.
“He is always generous with his time, to speak at conferences for the institute and other actuarial events, and is a strong ambassador for actuaries in the wider business community,” Actuaries Institute President John Newman said.
In 10 years Mr Driussi and his partners have transformed Quantium from a small consultancy to a data-driven strategy business that is one of the largest employers of actuaries.
“As businesses increasingly recognise that data and analytics are key enablers of business performance, there is an opportunity for the actuarial profession to take a leadership role in helping businesses realise this value,” Mr Driussi said.
Meanwhile, the Actuaries Institute has recognised 60 new fellows across sectors including general insurance, life insurance, health insurance, banking, investment and funds management and super.
