Organisers of this year’s insurance industry diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) festival have revealed the event line up. 

Taking place on September 26-28, Dive In expects to attract over 24,000 participants. More than 130 events are on offer in 35 countries, including Australia and New Zealand. 

The 2023 festival theme is Unlocking Innovation: The Power of Inclusion.  

Rhiannon Adam, the first openly queer person to travel to space, and quadruple amputee mountaineer Jamie Andrew are among confirmed speakers. For the first time, Dive In will offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited events through the Chartered Insurance Institute. 

The award-winning Dive In Festival was conceived nine years ago by Inclusion@Lloyd’s. It aims to drive greater inclusivity and to promote innovation to address the challenge of natural catastrophes, the net-zero transition, and supply chain and cyber risks. 

Events will be aired after the festival on the Dive In YouTube channel, and attendees are encouraged to take part in Dive In's #WorkYourWay social media campaign.

September 26 

• Culturising Commerce: The Power of Indigenous Inclusion in Global Innovation. Sponsored by AIG, Marsh McLennan and Wotton & Kearney. (In Person at Marsh, PwC Tower, Level 11, 15 Customs Street West, Auckland) 
• Creating an inclusive space to allow innovation to thrive (Virtual). Dual discussion about Te Reo Training and language inclusion, Dual’s First Reconciliation Action plan, the significance of Acknowledgement of Country Training and disability in the workplace.  
• D&I and the Talent Shortage (Virtual). Five speakers to look at diverse hiring practices and their impact in the current talent shortage. Brought by Gilchrist Connell and Meridian Lawyers. 
• Innovation and AI – will it help or hurt diversity and inclusion? (In Person at 22/1 Martin Pl, Sydney). Brought by DLA Piper and Suncorp. 
• Standing up for What's Right, the power of inclusion (Virtual). QBE-hosted event featuring NSW Australian of the Year Craig Foster. 
• Moving the inclusion dial: innovation in motion. Practical initiatives to foster inclusive, authentic and safe workplace cultures. (In person at Colin Biggers & Paisley - Level 42, 2 Park St, Sydney) 

September 27 

• AI for All: The Quest for Diversity and Inclusion in AI. Axa and Lockton present a look at ethical Artificial Intelligence use. (In person at The Assembly, Mezzanine Level, Angel Place, 123 Pitt St, Sydney) 
• The power of kindness and inclusion (Virtual). Chubb, Insurance Advisernet 
• Driving gender equity and breaking barriers for women in the workplace. Discussion featuring Steadfast CEO Robert Kelly, Accenture MD Technology Bridget Tracy and Experian MD Australia & NZ Andrew Black. (In person at Hilton Sydney, 488 George Street, Sydney, Level 4 Ballroom) 
• What you don't see. AIG and Marsh-sponsored event examines how research and technology are addressing workforce participation issues. (Virtual and in person at Marsh, One International Towers, 100 Barangaroo Ave, Sydney) 
• The Power of Kindness. BMS Risk Solutions and Barry Nilsson offer drinks and canapes to bring people together to share stories of strength, resilience and diversity. Kindness Factory’s Kath Koschel will deliver a keynote speech. (In person at Ivy Sunroom, 300 George Street, Sydney) 

September 28 

• Lessons and Leadership: Women and Girls in STEM: Where to from now? (Virtual and in person at Zurich Tower, Level 17, 118 Mount Street, North Sydney).  
• Making a Difference in a Smaller Organisation (Virtual). Panel discussion led by Fee Langstone Partner Virginia Wethey 
• A winning mindset (Virtual). Discussion exploring how employing professional athletes after sporting careers could deliver diversity of thought. Sponsored by Aon, Chubb, Kennedys Law, Marsh McLennan and WTW. 
• Artificial intelligence and discrimination in insurance pricing and underwriting (Virtual). Presented by the Australian Insurance Law Association and Actuaries Institute.
