Distinguished broker dies
Well-known Brisbane-based life insurance and compliance expert David Squire died in Brisbane last week.
Mr Squire, 62, was a long-serving member on the boards of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
NIBA President David Duffield said today that Mr Squire “put his heart and soul into serving the industry”.
“David was a lively member of the NIBA board and was highly respected for his knowledge and contribution,” he said. “He’s sorely missed.”
Former FOS Chairman Peter E Daly told insuranceNEWS.com.au Mr Squire always represented the financial services sector “with enormous enthusiasm. He did a great job.”
Mr Squire is survived by his wife Rosann, four children and seven grandchildren. His funeral will be held at 10.30am tomorrow (Tuesday) at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Coorparoo.
