‘Dedicated’ loss adjuster wins AICLA service medal
The Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters has given this year’s Service Medal Award to Alan Ford.
Before his retirement last year, loss adjuster Mr Ford spent 17 years supporting the institute, overseeing continuing professional development online tutorials and writing 168 papers covering many insurance scenarios.
He also worked on special projects such as a members’ guide to the Insurance Council of Australia’s code of practice.
“Alan's dedication to enhancing member knowledge and his invaluable contributions to the claims technicians course are truly commendable,” institute President Nicholas Ackers said.
Brisbane-based Sedgwick Loss Adjuster Palma Martin Leon is this year’s Syd McDonald Young Adjuster winner, while Hong Kong-based McLarens Assistant Manager Dorothy Cheung won the Diploma Prize. The awards honour academic achievement by members completing the Diploma of Loss Adjusting.
