Deadline looms for Carey Bird Scholarship entries

Members of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) have four weeks left to submit entries for the Carey Bird Scholarship.

The winner of the annual award can choose to attend the next Claims Convention in Sydney or the 2016 Asian Claims Convention, with airfares and accommodation paid for.

“The best part of the experience is that the scholarship actually rewards or recognises the ability of loss adjusters to write a report based on a real loss,” CEO Tony Libke told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Entrants must submit a report of 1500-3000 words based on a given scenario.

The competition is open to all AICLA members under 40, plus older members completing modules in the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Diploma of Loss Adjusting.

The award was established in 2013 in memory of former Marsh employee and AICLA member Carey Bird, who died in the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes.

The deadline for entries is May 31. Click here for more information.
