Alan Schafer has retired as president of the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB).

During his three-year tenure the AR Insurance Brokers director encouraged the development and training of young professionals in the association.

He has been replaced by former VP Sean Bemrose, who is GM of Tony Bemrose Insurance Brokers.

Other members elected to the CQIB management committee at its recent AGM were: VP Danny Brandon (Regional Insurance Brokers); Treasurer Chris Murfin (East Coast Insurance Brokers); and committee members Heather Peirano (Piranha Insurance Brokers), Andrew Hinz (Insurance Aid General Brokers), Don Tickle (Rivers Insurance Brokers) and Paul Hogan (Austbrokers Premier).
