CQIB names award winners
The Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB) has presented its Peter McCarthy young professional award to Rebecca Challenor, while QBE Insurance has won the all-rounder award.
Ms Challenor, of broker JW Bell & Associates, was one of five finalists in her category, which recognises outstanding commitment and service.
QBE State Manager, Intermediary Distribution Leigh Stalker accepted the all-rounder award for his company. CGU Insurance was runner-up.
The Mick Lambert Barker Award – for a CQIB business partner’s worker who has shown “service above and beyond” – went to Tiana Luvale from CGU.
Allianz Australia won the claims service prize, CGU the domestic insurer award and UAA took the underwriting agency category.
Meanwhile, the CQIB board has appointed David Duncalfe to the upgraded role of GM, a new title replacing that of executive secretary. David replaces Greg and Tricia Duncalfe, who have been in the role since 2007 and will continue to work in the association.
CQIB President Sean Bemrose says Mr Duncalfe has considerable management and training expertise and is well suited to continuing the growth of member and partner services.
