CQIB names award winners
The Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB) has presented its Peter McCarthy young professional award to Madeline Barra, while Allianz has won the all-rounder prize for a fourth consecutive year.
Ms Barra, from North Queensland Insurance Brokers in Townsville, was one of seven finalists in her category, which recognises outstanding commitment and service.
Allianz Queensland State Manager Chris Lynch accepted the all-rounder award, with the runner-up positions jointly taken by QBE and CGU Insurance.
The Mick Lambert Barker award, presented to a CQIB business partner’s staff member for “service above and beyond”, went to Darren Clien from Vero Insurance.
Allianz won the claims service award, CGU won the domestic insurer award and UAA and GT Insurance were joint winners of the underwriting agency award.
Last month CQIB promoted insurance as a career opportunity at the Brisbane Careers and Employment Expo.
CQIB young professionals exhibited at the event and received enquiries from high school and mature students among the 23,000 visitors.
