Consumer advocate holds insurance education course
The Consumer Action Law Centre is running a free online course for the public explaining how insurance works.
Participants will hear from Managing Lawyer Philippa Heir on topics including cash settlements, claim delays and flood exclusions, plus guidance on lodging a complaint with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.
“We’ve developed the Applied Insurance Law e-learning course to aid anyone seeking to delve deeper into the intersection of insurance and climate disasters as we, and others in the community legal sector, are getting more enquiries from concerned people frustrated by their insurance company,” Training and Engagement Lead Sarah Newman said.
“The course is totally free and requires less than 60 minutes to complete.”
