Queensland broker Comsure has marked its 40th anniversary with a gala celebration in Brisbane.

The business was established in 1974 by Terry Hamill, who recently retired. It has been a member of Austbrokers since 1995.

About 150 staff, clients and insurance industry representatives attended Friday’s event at the Gallery of Modern Art.

Manager Marcus Hamill told insuranceNEWS.com.au the event was a huge success – and says Comsure’s longevity is down to its commitment to personalised service.

“There has always been a family element,” he says. “Our father started it and he has only just retired this year.

“The focus has always been on service to our current customers rather than chasing new business.”

An art auction raised $4000 for charities Multicap and Act for Kids and the event was hosted by Seven News presenter Bill McDonald.
