Colin Biggers & Paisley grows Queensland insurance operations

Colin Biggers & Paisley Lawyers has heralded a “new era” for its insurance operations in Queensland following several key appointments and changes.

The firm says the promotions of Brisbane-based Patrick Cavanagh and Georgina Wong to partner roles earlier this year have allowed it to expand its capabilities to cover several new lines of business. The appointments saw Mr Cavanagh and Ms Wong join Vijay Edwards as partners for the practice’s Brisbane insurance team.

Mr Cavanagh has more than 10 years of litigation experience, specialising in claim areas of professional indemnity, public liability, cybercrime and employee fraud. He joined Colin Biggers & Paisley’s insurance team in 2016 and served as special counsel before his current role.

Ms Wong joined the firm in 2019, having also served as special counsel. She holds a speciality in claims surrounding workers’ compensation, personal injury, public liability, dust disease injuries, as well as other areas.

“It’s fantastic to see Patrick and Georgina’s dedication to their practice and I look forward to seeing the value they will undoubtedly continue to bring to our clients in Queensland and to the practice as a whole,” Colin Biggers & Paisley Joint Insurance Practice Leader Gavin Creighton said.

Mr Creighton also credits the hire of Alexandra King as Senior Associate to its expansion of operations. Ms King joined the firm in March, bringing an addition in personal injury, property damage and professional indemnity claims.
